Jothan “Joe” Swanigan Jr. has been cutting hair since 2012. With over 12 years of hands-on experience, Joe has built a reputation for precision, creativity, and care. He began his journey at 16 with the support of his grandmother, commuting four hours a day to barber school while finishing high school independently.
Since then, Joe has worked in every type of shop imaginable—from the high-volume pace of Great Clips to the soulful, community-focused Blues Barbershop. He eventually took on leadership roles, training barbers and managing multiple locations before founding A Barber’s Journey.
Today, Joe brings all of that depth to his West Jordan studio, offering high-end grooming with a focus on craft, service, and meaning.
